Students in grade 5 can participate in 5^th grade band during their specialist time. Middle school students can select intermediate or advanced bands as an elective. Wainwright’s band program performs at school assembles, community events, school concerts, band festivals, and the Junior Daffodil Parade. No audition is required for this class. Students in grades 4 and 5 participate in choir during their specialist time. Beginning this school year, elementary students may also participate in the 4^th period choir club. Middle school students can select intermediate or advanced choir as an elective. Choir provides students with opportunities to develop healthy vocal techniques, learn music-reading skills, exercise their voice, and other ways to improve their singing. The Wainwright choir performs at school assemblies, concerts, and community events, and choir ensembles participate in festivals throughout the school year.
